News from Samui Beach Village - October 2009

Samui has been a hive of activity recently with lots of festivals and activities taking - jazz nights, movie evenings and gala dinners to name just a few.

Most importantly the annual Samui Mala Festival which focuses on healthy living in a healthy environment for a �greener, cleaner Samui� was held this September and hosted educational days for children about how to �live green�, special spa days as well as charity races to raise money for a healthy Samui � giving back to the island to ensure it remains as beautiful as it is today for future visitors.

In keeping with the green theme, Samui Beach Village has embarked on its very own vegetable garden and although in its early stages, it looks set to produce corn, cucumbers, carrots and an array of different vegetables we can harvest and serve on guest plates! We have been fertilising the garden with food scraps generated from guests and general running of the villas (egg shells, fruit rinds etc), keeping the rubbish to a minimum and giving back to the earth.
